Stylish Styllist

One of the wonderful things about working in London is the freebies you're given.

Over the past 3 years free I've been given, cereals, chocolate, chewing gum, drinks and even deodorant! The one freebie that's always a winner with me are the magazines. It gives me something to read on the long journey to the suburbs and all's well if you remember to recycle it the end!

The latest offering comes from The Stylist a weekly magazine from the makers of Shortlist (the men's version)and about time too!

The mag (styled like Grazia) fashion and beauty, work life, cookery, film and television and even features a weekly column from the fabulous Dawn Porter.

My favourite little find from this weeks issue was this little doggy door stop

available at Rustic Angels

I'm a little obsessed with door stoppers, there's something so special about these, maybe it's the union jack plastered all over it. I almost wish I had more doors to prop open.

Rustic Angels even have there own little blog on their cute website, there is just too much to crush on- Enjoy!

Missing more...

I am missing my little man more than words can say, he's been away on his holidays in Cornwall with his nan and grandad for the past month. Next weekend he's coming home yey, but for now I'm just flicking through pictures of his life to date and craving a kissy cuddle, sigh.

The winter tale of the little blonde girl and her sweet, sweet tooth.

Monday evening, the nights are already drawing in and I am NOT looking forward to my cycle home in the dark. However I do heart my wind up cycle lights from Tesco and quite like the freedom that comes with riding home and singing loudly to myself.
I hope the exercise keeps me feeling positive this coming winter.

One thing that does makes me feel better this time of year is comfort food and in my recent trip to America I have found two new sugary treats to yearn for, namely Rice Crispie Marshmellow Cakes and Butterfingers.
Most of the hotels we stayed at along the trip had a Starbucks in the lobby which sold these delightful pieces of marshmellowey heaven, to my horror this morning the Starbucks at work does not- Sob.

I also do not understand why the UK does not stock Butterfingers? I know that my teeth are secretly thanking god that they are not but still, I'm getting withdrawal shakes. Lucky for me my old house mate from Uni is Cabin Crew and can keep my sweet tooth satisfied until Nestle comes to their senses and starts stocking up Tescos sharpish!

LA Story

Oh my how cold it is in England right now? Heating is on, washing is hanging all around the house and the slippers are on and will have to be surgically removed by Spring. Of course I'm starting to feel those winter blues creeping in, it doesn't help that hubby2b and I have just come back from our 2 week drive around the west coast of the USA.

Starting in Los Angeles we travelled 2270 miles in our hire convertible Sebring, though all kinds of weather sun, showers and storms! It was awesome, I want to go back as soon as possible I LOVE THE US!

One thing I'll never get used to in the states is the public toilets, why do they have MASSIVE gaps down the side so people can see you in all your glory?! Also how is it possible to stay skinny in America with all the peanut butter confectionery and the huge portion sizes. I'm already a size bigger and I was only there 2 weeks, god knows how I'm going to fit into my work uniform tomorrow : (

Just wanted to share a few photos of our fantastic trip and say a little thank you to pook for driving all that way and only giving us one near miss- I Love you x x x
