Thursday night before the actual festival starts is the best time to explore your surroundings and find some fun things, last year it was a boogie in the Silent Disco tent, this year it was a trip down The Rabbit Hole, or rather crawl.
Yes rumour had it amongst our friends that a secret club had been created at the top of the festival site by The Park stage called "The Rabbit Hole" so we headed off to see if it actually existed or if was one of those silly Glasto rumours such a Cliff Richard has died. Eventually after a lot of walking, asking stoners and searching tents we found it. To enter this club, first you had to fight your way through a mini rave to meet the Mad Hatter who would ask you a riddle (if you had a carrot you could skip the queue!) one you had answered it you were clear to go though the rabbit hole, crawling on your hands and knees through a tunnel of fairy lights and red carpet you eventually arrived through the legs of Alice into a club!
Eventually it all gt a bit too trippy and we decided to leave, the exit was via another tunnel, where the lights flickered on and off as the tunnel got smaller, you crawled out, rather undignified into a cinema (!) which fold out seat and ushers giving out popcorn, the movies were of old festival footage, genius idea.
After pinching ourselves it was time for bed.....
Shangri-la is another area worth checking out day or night, full of the weird and wonderful.
