General Musings..

I love how I have this little man in my life, I don't know where I'd be without him, even though he does snore louder than anyone I've ever known.

Isle of Alwight

This is the second year I've been lucky enough to go to the Isle of Wight festival and I must say they never disappoint, with bands or hospitality) This year the organisers had sorted out our ferry across from Portsmouth, our camping and our VIP passes, which even got us access to the pub on site so we could watch football with the rest of the bands...good times.

Best band of the weekend by far was Friendly Fires, followed by Vampire Weekend and my favourite celebrity spotting would have to be Jamie Campbell Bower and Bonnie Wright who hardly moved from the backstage area all day....fools!

Hope you had a fantastic weekend

If you like music..

My dear friend Tommy Bowen the session keyboardist for White Lies (coolest job in the world if you ask me) has started a blog.

Last year not only did the band tour the world, they supported Coldplay AND Kings of Leon, had a number one album and played Letterman for all you American peeps out there... not bad eh?

This Summer apart from doing a countless European festivals, they're also supporting MUSE, yes Twilighters Muse.

So if you like musical blogs and behind the scenes action pop over to his lovely little blog, go go go!

Right I'm off to pack and preen myself for Isle of Wight fest, have a wicked weekendboys and girls.

Wise Words...

Last night as I crawled into bed next to my already fast asleep boyfriend around 2am I channel surfed and happened across the end of an interview with Stephen Hawking. Not my usual sort of feature to watch on TV but I needed something to send me off to sleep and this was perfect.

As I tried to get comfortable, tossing and turning in the the heat, Spence lying on his back feet in the air snoring away, the interview concluded with 3 pieces of advice Hawking has given his children;

"One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it," he said. "Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don't throw it away."

Okay, Okay universe! I get it, giving up work was not the smartest idea I've had...but I appreciate you getting Stephen Hawking to tell it to me straight....meh.

Check out the full interview with Diane Sawyer here.

Festival!

My Festival season starts this Friday at the Isle of Wight, as I'm writing this the weather is looking terrible so my fingers are crossed that the weather will cheer up!

Here are some lovely pictures from the last couple of Glastonbury's (the holy grail of Festivals!) all taken on disposable cameras. One festival rule I have is no digital, no one wants to see you after 5 days at a festival on your fancy mega pixel camera, eek!

Bring on the Falafals, mud, music and Silent Discos!

Emily Loves Richmond.

After this morning's little note i decided it was high time I peeled myself off the sofa, got changed and went out to enjoy the sunshine I was drastically begging for a few days ago. After taking Spencer for a little walk (it's too hot for him right now) I dusted off Richmond, my Raleigh Richmond bike, and set off to the river for a little adventure. Still not feeling in a chatty mood I wore no make up and no deodorant, hence no pictures of little old me- ha!

Hope you all have a beautiful sunny weekend. I'm on my own for the next couple of days so I intend to snuggle with Spencer, watch a few films and chill before festival season kicks in next week, outfit posts to come.
